See For Me is a platform for virtual tours of European cities and landmarks, filmed with a panoramic camera in 8K. Videos are available for streaming with resolution options from 2K to 8K, as well as for offline download. The main feature is the game mode: the user controls a character with WASD keys, collects items, takes and saves photos, likes, and leaves comments directly within the scene. The platform has a powerful backend for creating scenes—its own video editor, effects addition, operator removal algorithm, audio overlay, and the use of auto-tracking technology to add hotspots to the panorama with viewer position tracking.

In the interview, the creator tells how the idea for the platform was born, what technical difficulties had to be overcome, and what prevents faster content filling.
Open interview

How did the idea for See For Me come about?

The idea was born from a desire to combine travel and technology. I wanted people to not just watch videos but interact with them, like in a game. That's how the concept of interactive 360° tours with gamification elements came about.

How was the technical part built?

Behind the apparent simplicity lies a complex platform on its own engine. I developed a video editor, video encoder, an algorithm to remove the operator from the frame, a scene building and branching system, and auto-tracking of hotspots within the video. All of this runs on Hetzner VPS and Cloudflare R2.

Are there already users or feedback?

The platform is in beta, accessible via a public link. Users can test, leave comments, and likes directly within the scenes. Feedback helps improve interactivity and content.

What is currently hindering development?

The main challenge is the lack of filmed material and time for processing. To make the platform more diverse, we need to travel and film more, and then add interactive elements to each scene. It's a labor-intensive process.

Similarity and uniqueness

AI assessment

Assessed Jun 3, 2026

14Uniqueness14/20

See For Me is fairly unique among virtual travel platforms due to its gamified 360° video approach.

Similarity

All candidates offer virtual exploration of real-world locations, but none combine 360° video with WASD-controlled character movement and in-scene item collection.

Difference

See For Me uses pre-recorded 8K 360° video rather than 3D models or Street View, and adds a game layer (collecting, photographing, commenting) absent in the alternatives.

StoreVi.be advice

Live site reviewedUpdated Jun 3, 2026, 09:50 PM
6Prospects6/10
The project looks promising thanks to a unique blend of 360° video and gamification, but current content depth and lack of public proof of demand hold back the assessment.
Show advice

Strong idea with a clear differentiator (a game layer over 360° video), but weak evidence base: the site has only 6 tours, no public reviews, usage metrics, or confirmed demand. High competition in the virtual travel segment and low entry barriers—anyone can shoot panoramic footage…

Strong sides

Unique combination of 360° video and WASD controls with item collection—none of the known analogues offers such a game layer.

A proprietary engine for editing and encoding video—technical groundwork that is hard to replicate quickly.

Choice of resolution from 2K to 8K and offline download—solves quality and accessibility issues for weak internet.

Weak sides

Only 6 tours on the site (Harlem, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Tokyo, Reykjavik, Rome) – the content base is still too small to retain an audience.

No public evidence of usage: no reviews, ratings, user counts, or examples of completed game sessions.

Dependence on the creator’s personal time for shooting and processing—scaling without a team or automation is difficult.

What to improve next

Focus on 3–5 strongest tours and add public demo videos (trailers) on YouTube or Vimeo to attract early users and gather feedback.

Implement a referral link system or "gift a tour to a friend" feature—this will create a viral effect without large marketing budgets.

Consider crowdfunding (Kickstarter, Planeta.ru) to fund new location shoots—this simultaneously tests demand and provides content funds.

Growth ideas

Integrate with travel blogs, YouTube travel channels, and educational platforms (virtual school tours) to create a first sustainable traffic channel.

Add user-generated content (allow users to upload their own 360° videos and create scenes) to turn the platform into a marketplace and reduce creator load.

Partner with museums, national parks, or European tourism offices to create branded tours with licensing fees.

Card-to-product alignment

Project card and live site are aligned: description, functionality, and city list match.

Creator interview confirms technical complexity (proprietary engine) and main blocker—lack of content, reflected in the card.

Uniqueness described in the review (WASD + collection) is indeed present on the site as interactive scenes with markers and items.

Current blockers

The need for more filmed material and time for processing and adding interactive elements to scenes.

Creator needs

Tester

Need to travel and film more to diversify the platform's content, as well as time for processing and adding interactivity to scenes. Feedback and help with distribution are welcome.
